Articulture created the feeling that I always love with Art--the sense of excellence and new perspectives regardless of the medium--music, pottery, scuplture, painting and photographs. Each delivery of my articulture art was exciitng and reminded me a lot of Christmas anticipation and joy. I have enjoyed learning what each artist believes about their art and creative process. I feel more closely connected to the pieces I have received and enjoyed. Thank you for creating this opportunity for all of us members and artists. i hope this effort can continue and more people can find the joy in the crafting of fine art and sharing it.

Thanks for your comment. As a strong advocate for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts I am pleased to see you mention them here. While articulture and the PCA both are looking to support Pennsylvania artists, they are very different. You mentioned the PCA has artist fellowships, you are probably aware that these fellowships are very limited and the dollars the PCA is able to distribute today is much, much less than it was even two years ago. Due to these funding restrictions we need to figure out new ways to support our Pennsylvania artists and articulture is just one of my thoughts...

Articulture is looking to support a minimum of nine different Pennsylvania artists and sharing their work with fifty shareholders. The goal is that these fifty shareholders will become collectors, advocates, and friends of the articulture artists and continue to support them in the future.

For the early stages of this project, we are defining local as Pennsylvania artists. Like visiting your farm we will be creating opportunities for you to visit the articulture artists, have a chance to meet them, hear about their work, and gather with the other shareholders.

I like your concept very much but my version of the CSA for artists is handled by the PA Council on the Arts. It's not direct but as long as they continue to give fellowships to artists then I feel like a portion of my tax dollars is supporting artists.

What is your definition of local and how do I know who the artists are and where they are? I am a CSA member and I know the farm and can visit it. It's kind of important to me that local has some meaning in this context.
